ANALYSIS
1) Fibre Supply Analysis
Determine Nova Scotia’s current and potential future fibre supply and detail its characteristics to sustain or grow the sector relative to known and projected market opportunities
2) Solid Wood Products Opportunities
Evaluate and understand which new and emerging technologies, processes and forest fibre-based products are the best fit for Nova Scotia
3) Stakeholder Analysis
Understand the capacity, needs, obstacles and challenges within the Nova Scotia forestry sector, including industry and government agencies, relative to sustaining and growing its economic capacity.
4) Transportation Opportunities
Determine opportunities for efficiencies and optimized costs across road, rail and/or ship modalities to increase competitiveness through the lens of policy, planning and physical infrastructure
5) Bio-Product Opportunities
Determine opportunities for profitable integration of under utilized primary fibre and/or residuals from all sources in new and innovative wood based products
6) Socio-Economic Analysis
Evaluate and understand the social elements and societal paradigms/trends to facilitate availability of human capital and social acceptability to enable the necessary activities to sustain and grow the sector.
